It’s kind of a bonkers question because they are different technologies with different use cases only related in that they were both used for entertainment. It’s almost like “how did trains survive the invention of airplanes?” (or boats and planes).

A maga piece of shit sucking off the AI bubble with both hands AND being a worthless abusive boss? I am shocked… Well, not that shocked.

If they pull the private equity BS, door dash will make loads while instacart posts nothing but losses ‘for unknown reasons, probably just a downturn in the market or something’.

Or they are going to do the typical private equity thing and transfer the debt to instacart as soon as they are acquired and then use the debt as an excuse for instacart to go bankrupt in a few years (or months) and walk away one competitor less in the market.

I am not against all anti-cheat, just kernal level anti-cheat.
Stopping cheating doesn’t require exclusive zero-ring access to a device. Some people are going to get around any anti-cheat you put in place short of actual human review (which is nearly impossible to do at scale). There are plenty of online competitive games that don’t use kernal anti-cheat and don’t have their community ruined by constant cheating. Anti-cheat was a “solved” problem ages before kernal anti-cheat hit the scene.
All Kernal anti-cheat is doing is giving access to everything you do on your device to a game publisher and making you feel warm and fuzzy that you lost because of a skill reason and not someone paying for an edge when both are true. Sometimes you lose to a cheater, sometimes you lose to someone vastly better than you, and in many cases you will never know which is which. It’s like magic vs science, the end result feels the same whether you understand it or not.

It’s expensive? That’s the problem? Let them fucking cheat then I guess. I feel like they can either take themselves seriously or not, but how something “hurts” the professional competitions shouldn’t be taken into account for the general public trying to enjoy games. Kernal Anti-Cheat is a fucking plague that needs to end.

You don’t need to force competitive games to console to do this, just have the tournament or league provide the hardware for tournaments. If a “pro” shows up and suddenly sucks when playing on the league machine then you figure out pretty quick they are getting help from something.
Also, consoles doesn’t stop cheating. This is the same mentality that thinks EAC or Vanguard stops cheating. Hardware cheat tools can work on console exactly as well as they do on a PC. There are already plenty of options for people that really want to cheat that the host computer doesn’t even know about, just sees a standard mouse and/or keyboard plugged in. This can do the exact same thing with a console and a controller.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me…

No they aren’t, about 40% of them claim to have been self-verified. But when actual mathematicians looks at them, it isn’t even clear if the “proof” included is proving the thing the paper claims to prove. It all has to be looked at with great scrutiny to find out if any of it even has merit.
OpenAI just dropped a bunch of busy work on the entire field of mathematics that may or may not turn into anything at all…

Mine is pretty boring. Honestly, I imagine Amazon has a much deeper profile for us hidden away and this is the one they wanted us to find to diffuse our suspicions of being constantly spied on… Seriously, I bet me TV knows more about me than that list.

Ah yea it does. Can you repost that, but slower…?
It really seems like way too many people are just kinda going “eh, everyone else is doing it. It’d be impossible for the courts to force us to reverse course on this now.” Like, there’s no way the monkey is going to get the cork back in, might as well just get used to being covered in shit.
