4·4 days agoYeah, I’ve been test-driving stalwart with encryption and shit in a VPS, so far it’s been pretty solid. Using SMTP2Go as a backend for sending to avoid the risk of having my VPS IP blacklisted if something goes wrong.
The moment our subscription ends, if everything keeps going as good with stalwart, I’m jumping ship immediately.

59·4 days agoI swear that money nukes brain cells.
“Due to insufficient velocity,” Proton is not on track to achieve its annual recurring revenue target by the end of the year, one internal document obtained by 404 Media reads. Proton’s year-over-year growth is also “far away from what the market today considers to be good,” and, “By all metrics that matter, we’re an underperforming company.”
What a bunch of imbeciles. People that use Proton are in it because they value security and privacy. Any AI produced code that’s not vetted is inherently insecure, and a huge “fuck you” to privacy as a whole.
“We’re no tmaking enough money fast enough, let’s go the slop-route”. Fucking idiot, what do you think is going to happen the moment the security crowd and the privacy crowd hear about this?
I for one have been preparing to jump ship from my family plan subscription the moment it expires, precisely because of this bullshit Yen has been pushing in the last year or so, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.
I do believe that Yen started proton from a good place, but as is natural for these fuckers, the sight of money completely replaces whatever working segments of their brains were working with shit.

194·5 days agoLet’s agree to disagree. When off, it’s saving power. I used to be one of those that kept my computer on sleep and only turned it off through a restart for upgrades, or to take it apart and clean it. That was me being lazy and giving 0 fucks about resources and the common good. Not anymore.

3·5 days agoYeah, plus, I have all Meta shit blocked in all my VLANs, which doesn’t help either.
I just use this on my phone with a VPN to download whatever it is, see it, and then delete it:

Has worked every single time. I think it works for TikTok, but that is something I’m not even willing to try.

8·5 days agoThey are probably betting on Google still displaying reddit at the top of every search so that normies keep coming in. They seem to have ignored that Google searches now just give you a stitched answer of bullshit Gemini put together so that normies don’t ever click on reddit links.
This is the image of corporations shooting themselves in the foot while passing the same gun around 🤣

Technology@lemmy.world•Some iPhone Duo screens are already failingEnglish
1·7 days agoYeah, I’ve had pretty much every pixel XL (for when they made smaller Pros because I need large screes) ever, except for the 5. My last one was the 10 Pro XL. Right now I use the 10 with GOS for personal and an 8 Pro in stock for a work phone.
I really would love a RAZR ultra with GOS, but we need to see if the hardware will meet the GOS requirements.
My understanding is that no Motorola hardware has been approved by GOS yet, and that the partnership actually means getting GOS involved in the choice of hardware and its implementation and architecture, but I could be wrong.

1·8 days agoI for one can’t wait to see what Motorola brings out next year on the RAZR lineup that is fully compatible with GrapheneOS. If they manage that, with an inner screen that is 6.7" then I’m selling my Pixel. Otherwise, I guess I’m keeping the Pixel until it dies.

3·8 days agoI want to follow in on your footsteps, for sure. I can’t right now because of work and kids, but I’ve been slowly going out to walk with nothing but an MP3 player, and have my phone off during commute as well.
The first few times I was honestly anxious. Now, shit, I was part of that army of drones out there, what a fucking eye opener, honestly.

1·10 days agoYeah, I’m betting on, at least, 2030 as well.

A web hosting data center and a Slopware data center are 2 completely different animals.
And where are they going to host a site? On a napkin? Fewer people have access to the hardware needed to self host today due to the ridiculous prices of hardware.
