    TRANSGENDER SPORTS

How is that even in the top 100 things on the minds of voters? I’m trying to imagine that being a thing pre-Faux and pre-Internet.

Gotta love a world where you get more access to things like more channels and the Internet, and people become less informed.

    Facepalm

Nobody serious has this as a priority. It’s not even a thing to be worried about. Most folks that have an ounce of empathy or decent character about themselves just don’t care. So many other issues to be worried about that need to be solved stat lol

The problem is that absolutely unserious people also vote.

And Bullshit Mountain has managed to install this “issue” as one of the top 9 issues. And that, for some voters, anyway, is the most important issue.

        Also, Project 2025:

Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists

Yah good points. Soooo many single issue voters out there (coughs loudly: catholics) I guess we will see how many of those unserious voters make it out to the polls. I’m cautiously optimistic for this election.

I mean, I knew the right-wing conversation around this was stupid, but watching Megyn Kelly tell Bill Maher just before the election of 2024 that transgender issues was maybe her #1 issue was…quite something.

Yah she was paid to say it, and say it loudly as she knew that would piss a certain minority off enough to be inconvenienced and go vote. Apparently it worked.

    Also:

    [emphasis mine]

Some 38% of voters ahead of the election said keeping transgender girls and women out of women’s sports was a very important issue or the most important issue, compared to 25% who said that about protecting the rights of transgender people.

    the most important issue

Yeah, I’m supposing it’s all in how you ask. The 38% mentioned in the Reuters article are probably the people that watch Faux and the like.

The conservatives have certainly been beating the “sports” drum for years and years and the message seems to be sticking with their base.

Yah exactly. Our local ABC affiliate station owned by Sinclair broadcasting has a news page where they ask daily polls and the way the questions are worded, you can tell how they want you to respond. it just ends being a reinforcing feedback loop with people’ being directed to the predetermined opinion that they wanted to hear, which then likely gets brought into some database to support bullshit statistics broadcasted on fox news. As they say, the devil is in the details.

Yeah. Even in the poll from The Guardian, inflation/COL is #1. But of the people that listed that, I wonder how many are still operating on complete delusions about it. I mean, this administration has been brazenly lying about the economy they inherited, versus discussing the reality of how they blew it up.

So I expect some of the people that list inflation/COL as a concern blame Biden for it if pollsters were able to drill down on the opinions behind those initial choices.

Yah no doubt, and couple that with the fact they fired all the people that were responsible for accurate reporting on the general financial stability of the country, yah the numbers are cooked (and were probably cooked to some point in the past too) and are no longer attached to reality. Its all made up now to make dear leader happy.

It’s not like they are polling, but I loved how The Good Liars ask the wingers waiting to watch donnie questions like this: “will you accept the election results if Republicans win” gets an “of course” kind of answer, but if they ask “will you accept the results if Republicans lose” gets a different answer.

Yep exactly that’s the hidden assumption in the question…there is a hidden intention there and allows them to get that statistic they are looking for to be used to influence other smooth brained idiots across the country.
