Brown makes successful return to US Senate after voters reject Republican incumbent Jon Husted

Democrat Sherrod Brown will return to the US Senate, as Ohio’s voters rejected the incumbent Jon Husted in a significant defeat for Republicans.

Brown’s bid for a comeback after being ousted from the seat he held for 18 years in 2024 became one of the marquee contests of this year’s midterm elections, and a key test of whether Democrats can regain support among the working class and rural voters who have deserted them in recent years.

To be fair, it’s pervasive on both sides of the aisle. Obviously MAGA is more of a cult, but it’s kind of gross when people root for a color uninformed.

I don’t have cable, so I was trying to watch election results and ended up on a stream. I had to get out of there pretty quickly because the “Go Blue” “Go Red” “Blue team winning” comments were making me depressed.

Voters need to understand that the primary is more important than the General election and local and state politics are just as important as those. But so many people tune out and just root like it’s a sports team every 2 or 4 years.
