is a profound repudiation of Trumpism, helped along by Trump’s unerring ability to pick truly despicable candidates from Texas’s criminal Ken Paxton to Ohio’s creep Vivek Ramaswamy to South Carolina’s inane Darline Graham.

In that it’s the end of something, and when the celebration is over, it’ll be time to remember it’s the beginning of something, of rebuilding this country in all the ways it’s been broken and corrupted. So tonight there was a finish line, and tomorrow or the day after it’ll be our starting line.

I have spent two years anticipating a dictatorship. This week, I’m suddenly unsure it’s still going to happen. It actually feels like a huge crisis has maybe been averted, but we can’t be too sure just yet. Hope the government is ready to quash the next coup attempt.

I think ablut 2/3 of the US leans Democrat, they just didn’t vote in 2024. This is what happens when they vote, it was more powerful than gerrymandering and voter suppression from the Republicans.

The initial reactions here seem to be focused on dismissing democrats and they have certainly deserved the criticism, but imo these results are also a sign that there is still hope and democracy is not yet lost, because for all their collective flaws, the democrat party is nothing like the actual threat, which is the GOP. I think people can allow themselves the reprieve from the torrent of bad news and doom, and find their country is still theirs to fight for. People have been jaded at the democrats, but they are still and by far the sane alternative in US politics. Let’s just hope they get that their progressive wings is something to bank on, and addressing the common people’s struggle is a better platform than engaging in culture wars, electorally.

We won a huge battle last night by getting the Dems the majorities. Now we move our attention to the 2028 primaries to move the Dems left.

      This is how we win.

All that really happened last night is that the “army” for the Blue showed up in greater numbers than the “army” of the Red…

Let’s see if the Blue army actually does something now… historically they have been the party of “let bygones be bygones” which led the USA to the drain

Congrats Americans for actually voting (and voting smarter) this time, but this is just the beginning of the fight before the reconstruction… long road ahead as a lot of what the child rapist president did will take decades to undo
