The one thing missing from articles like this is any look at _where_the names are. Disenfranchising 20,000 voters usually won’t affect a statewide election in California, but it certainly could decide local elections and maybe congressional

Realistically i think it’s just a trial balloon. They’re trying many different ways of interfering with election to see what they can get away with, and in the hope they add up

They are throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Whatever doesn’t sticks wastes time and resources.

This is actually telling that the strategy with these lists isn’t direct modification of election results and it’s very much a pretense for argument to try to sow doubt on results.

I’m really curious how next week’s White House push is going to go down…

My security blocks the article, but it would be cool to know how many names were in it. I’d bet only a tiny percentage of voters were not supposed to be registered. Many probably didn’t know due to some crazy technicality. Headline made me think at first they had thousands of names.

They block AP News? That’s hardly a scam source

The research found that 8,880 of the names, representing 42% of the entire list, do not correspond to anyone in California’s current voter file.

The point is to be able to say “there was massive voter fraud and the state did not take it seriously”. The goal is to make enough people reject voting - and hence democracy - that a fascist government can assume power.
