Pessimism of the mind. Optimism of the spirit. You are correct that there are a lot of ways things can go wrong, but that just means we need to put in the work to overcome those obstacles. Put that pessimism to work by using it to predict and surmout roadblocks. If you feel phone calls arent enough, go door knock. If you feels door knocking isn’t enough, start organizing. If you feel organizing isn’t enough, run for office. Get more and more involved in politics until you understand in your soul that a better future is possible, if only we all work together to make it happen.

Thank you for the work you’ve done so far. The work you did may not have had a noticable effect while you were more active, but that work you put in helped get us in a more progressive space today.
Centrist Dems are losing a lot of power and hopefully the party continues moving in a more progressive direction. The people I talk to who would not consider themselves radically progressive are expressing some very progressive ideas, like getting rid of Chuck Schumer or expanding the Senate/Supreme Court. These are ideas that a decade ago would be considered fringe and radical, but are now considered popular and average for the Dem voter base.
I am going to continue being politically active and, not to be too confrontational, I hope that in a decade, I do not end up as pessimistic and sapped of hope as you are currently.
