Yes.

Yes.

That is one of the operating modes of someone with Autism.
Everyone does this!
I’m the only person who does this!

He was not a cryptographic savant. His first codes were broken in a week, his latter stood up to scrutiny because they had encoding errors, so any attempt to decrypt using the intended method would fail.
They thought they were the smartest person, so they tried to show off by publishing ‘clues’. All they did was show the world they can’t spell.
And the misspelling of words also adds an unintended layer of difficulty to solving the cypher.
In relation to the notes taking effort away from boots on the ground, I don’t think so. The beat cops don’t go down to the lab and do blood work themselves, so I doubt they went to the crypto lab to decode messages.

Man, sometimes watching the visualisations was better than using the computer.
Also, watching the disk defrag.
….how did it take me 35 years to question if I had autism?

Then why not make it opt-in?
Where do I have to wait for it to download install and set up something that I do not want and will instantly remove?

…. because bras are measured in cup sizes!!!

Part of the issue with this approach is that you essentially get to something like a karma system, where well known developers are pushed to the top.
This is something Valve just spent a lot of time and effort to undo, so small, new indie devs get as much storefront space as the veterans.

We have polluted the ground so thoroughly that it is no longer useful to us. How could this have happened?
The world works in more absolute terms for the autistic brain.
