From an efficiency POV it absolutely is significantly better to concentrate compute power in data centers, because when you’re not using it then somebody else can. When those resources are in your private computer, it sits idle most of the time with all it’s potential wasted.
that being said, he can go eat a hot ball of lead. Fuck him for wanting to take away peoples free access to compute power.
This shows just shitty SD cards are for storage that’s used a lot. Even the expensive ones for high intensity use burn out really fast.
I haven’t needed the extra storage of the micro SD since what feels like forever. My current phone has 128GB, I’m only using half of it and I have hardly deleted anything from it in something like 2 years.

What that statement ment was, that you can’t use it to invest and diversify you portfolio if its not in an exchange. So unless you keep the majority in the exchange, you can’t trade it without paying the transaction fees every time.

companies that accept different cryptocurrencies
But this is the issue, that’s like 0.0001% of possible places you can use your funds (probably I’m way too generous with that number), and none of it to not die from hunger, cold or dehydration.
And the volatility is still absolutely absurd for something to be used as currency, like all other Cryptos it is dominated by instability and speculation to an excessive degree.

Since crypto is more of a trading asset than currency, they’re not that useful in your own wallet because then you constantly need to move them in/out of the exchange and pay all the fees related to those transactions.
Yeah yeah “actually they’re currency” blah blah, except they’re not really usable as currency in the functional real world (just like stocks)

Logistics for cooking doesn’t scale linearly, so while it’s a massive undertaking when cooking for 1000 people, it’s barely anything at all when cooking for a family of 4.

I would argue it says he’s trying to increase his own wealth at any cost. Destroying the US is a byproduct of this behavior, not the intention.

Real life fast & furious, but with GPUs instead of DVD players

Balanced coax cables wont affect the ELF magnetic field stemming from the physical rotation of the motors, which is what they’re measuring.

extremely low-frequency (ELF) magnetic field thrown off by its spinning brushless motors.
Now, researchers at Florida International University (FIU) have figured out how to use ELF to spot incoming threat drones
Typical active radar, optical, and acoustic systems face constraints from line-of-sight barriers, environmental background noise, and strict transmission regulations. Passive ELF magnetic sensing reduces these vulnerabilities by covertly capturing motor emissions. This technique operates silently, without broadcasting signals. It offers a stealthy detection alternative unaffected by weather conditions or acoustic interference.
“While the range of our method is limited for now, it costs only a few hundred dollars to develop and could run continuously without any specialized support, unlike radar systems,” Madanayake said.
The FIU team converts a basic physical requirement of drone flight into an effective security trap.
Although a 49 feet detection range remains modest, the system excels in its stealth and low manufacturing cost. A purely passive receiver emits no signals, making it invisible to hostile forces trying to jam or locate defensive sensors. Electromagnetic fields pass through fog, total darkness, and heavy environmental noise, providing reliable detection where optical and acoustic sensors routinely fail.
IDK, It sounds pretty impressive to me

🎶like you just don’t care🎶

Well, betteridge’s law says the answer here is “no”…

It does export to odt, but it still messes up document formatting. Of course this is a solvable issue from a technical perspective, but it’s still a lot of man hours to do so for every single document and template across an entire government.

Running with thin clients for office workers has been default for large corporations for literally decades. Hell it’s even done in engineering heavy professions too. It’s the entire business model of companies like Citrix, and it’s extremely popular.
As for small(er) businesses, no they’re probably not going to like it, but they hold little to no sway in the matter, so their opinions don’t matter compared to the multi-billion international businesses that fuel this.
And outsourcing IT infrastructure is wildly popular for businesses of all sizes, because it’s less hassle and direct management when you just pay a third party to deal with it.

Tesla has the biggest “network” of connected vehicles
No they don’t, their market share of all cars sold globally within the last decade is far from the biggest.
hated and despised by many so are a likely first target
I think this may be a bubble we’re in. The vast majority seems to not really care either positively or negatively about Tesla. It’s just a car to them.

It’s not just Tesla though, it’s all brands and regardless of whether it’s an ICE/PHEV or BEV.

The first roadster wasn’t even a Tesla, it was a repurposed Lotus.
Fair enough, this seems very regionally specific though. I can only buy gift cards for local supermarkets with my credit card for example. And in all the countries I’ve been to (granted mostly on the European continent) I’ve never seen an option for using crypto for gift cards.
