Damnit, you had me sold up until this part. I need the memories feature to work exactly how it does on GPhotos (or in a similar way). But I still have a lot of comment replies to sort through so I’m hopeful I’ll find the perfect replacement.

What about a good Google Photos alternative? Preferably something I can self-host. (Cloud storage is fine too, 1TB minimum, $15/mo max.) I’ve been wanting to DeGoogle for years but haven’t yet out of convenience.

I hope you’re right because as someone who was insane enough to pay $1800 for a 4090 at launch, I intend on this card lasting me until at least the late 2030s. It was already $1000 more than what I’d consider reasonable for a high end GPU; no way am I paying $5K+ for a 50/60/70/8090.

Wait, HDR finally works properly in Linux now? I last tried it when KDE first added support and had to go back to Windows for HDR gaming and videos because it simply did not work. Does this mean that RTX HDR works too now? It’s really useful for YouTube and games that don’t have native HDR support. Please say yes, I am so done with Windows.

Well I’m glad somebody’s doing it because DeFlock’s app was designed by someone who doesn’t understand UX. It’s so clunky and unintuitive. Hell, the “navigation” feature doesn’t actually give you turn-by-turn directions FFS!

Look at any top trim vehicle interior from ~2015-2019 and just give me more of that. Buttons, knobs, an angular dashboard. No critical functions on touchscreens!

Looking at these photos, all I can say is god I’m so sick and tired of modern vehicle interiors. I hate these flat, 1980s-style dashboards with nothing on them but vents, a steering wheel, and two giant touchscreens. They’re Spartan as fuck and ugly as hell, yet they have the nerve to charge $60K+ for this crap. Whatever happened to proper interior design? I get that these are concept cars, but their interiors still look llke every modern car on the road.

Well good for you. I’m glad you’re privileged. You can afford to get scammed every once in awhile by a small business. When that happens to me, I can’t eat until my next paycheck (and it has happened before). So I go with the cheapest, more reliable option, because that’s what I can afford.
