An entire additional carrier strike group has already been mobilized and en route for a few days now
That’s got to be one of the largest total US Navy deployments since WW2

A Trump ally committing financial crimes?
What next, water found to be wet?

Good policy requires changing public opinions. Too many people who think nothing of dumping waste in the river

China, at least, has to be thrilled. Trump ceded so many economic sectors to China. EVs, solar power, nuclear power, among others
Not only that, but his war on Iran pushed the world towards those technologies much faster than it otherwise would have
Trump only really gave Putin a bit more time to draw out his war on Ukraine

The fact you think the US would invade Russia for natural resources is inconsistent with reality
If the US had any desire to invade, they would have done so in 1991
They didn’t because of many reasons, but the simplest to understand is: nukes
You’re trying to argue natural resources would drive the US to do so, but that’s entirely irrational. If the US were is invade any major country for natural resources, it would be Canada. They have far more than Russia, with much less of a military, and no nukes
There is no situation where the US would attack Russia for natural resources. It’s not in their interest, even ignoring negative externalities from other countries

He made secretive deals with Jared Kushner
He’s a centrist in the hardest left house we’ve had in decades
He represents the Democratic elite that lost to Trump in 2024, ushering in the most damaging US presidency in living memory

Who has that position? Can you cite them establishing that position? Even a single member of dem leadership?

The SPR is irrelevant. Oil is a global commodity with minimal difference in price across the globe
the increase of our prices are purely the oil companies assfucking us
That’s how basic economics works. Oil is a global market far more complicated than you understand
The US is heavily reliant on oil imports. We have to pay the market rate to keep our refineries running. US oil is largely exported
That seeming contradiction is one tiny piece of the giant puzzle that is the modern oil and gas sector. People spend their entire lives studying a single segment of it

It’s only “cheaper” because we pay for roads through other taxes as well. The big difference is taxes, which we pay very little of at the pump

Not in politics they don’t. No one is ever altruistic
America joined WW2 because they feared Germany’s military power if they take over Europe. In the process they stopped the genocide of millions
That is a good thing, regardless of motive

You should come back to reality so we can understand what you’re saying

He pushed trough healthcare reforms (that I am not qualified to judge)
I’m pretty qualified to judge: It’s not good.
I don’t really blame Obama too much, but he shouldn’t have compromised. The result was worse than nothing. It allowew our broken healthcare system to keep getting worse, and now we’re getting close to catastrophic failure
American healthcare is effectively a massive bubble. There is so much inefficiency that we now have a significant portion of the population employed in healthcare that will lose their job with any healthcare reform
We live in a society where frequent flyers waste healthcare resources every single day. An ambulance to and from the hospital daily, an ER doc to check them out and determine they’re faking yet again. All because they refuse all mental health treatment
We also live in a society where healthcare professionals feel they have to dodge the ambulance after a serious head injury, simply because they can’t afford it
I’m thinking of two specific cases here, but the whole system is broken. We have hospitals going bankrupt at a record pace, while paying more for healthcare than any other country, by far

Are you sending it to your current rep, or the one that just got elected? Same for senator?
I’m just not sure the best way to reach out to a politician-elect if they haven’t even taken office yet

The petition for Jeffries to not be speaker already has more than 5x as many votes as Jeffries had to get elected
South Korea is selling the shovels in this gold rush. Their investment is fairly rational
There is a lot of oent up demand for hardware outside the AI sector, so even if the bubble pops, SK companies will still be able to sell products. Just at reasonable margins, not the absurd AI profit levels

The real question we should be asking about AI is: How much longer will the bond market sustain the nonstop spending spree?
Uhhh, no. Still the wrong question. It’s so incredibly short-sighted
The real question should be, what sort of society do we want to be in the future?
What resources do we want to allocate to AI when it is more efficient at using them?
What tasks should we retain for humanity even when AI is better at them?

WTF are you trying to argue?
Russia’s geo-political strategy requires weakening rival nations. That’s how we got Trump and Brexit. To claim that is not a threat is absurd and intellectually devoid

Russian disinformation campaigns are why Trump got elected in 2016
That is a deep ideological threat

Isn’t AfD the largest party in Germany now? They’re pro-Russia
I think he understands long-term planning, he just doesn’t care about it. He only cares about money, power, and in a distant 3rd, his own legacy
As long as a problem won’t happen before he’s out of office, he doesn’t care
