Maybe. Remember that the oligarchs control our media. Wonder why it sounds like Demorats never get anything done and Republicans strangely get a pass? And why so many people hate whatever the Democrat nominee for President is?

Coture in the Senate, required to vote on legislation, required ⅘ or 60 votes. Dems will have around 55.

It requires 60 votes for cloture in the Senate, allowing legislation to be voted on.

Alas, no. 60 needed in the Senate.

bc the dems have a majority (but not supermajority) in congress they can still pass bills through both houses and force trump to veto them.
The Democrats need 60 votes (⅘) for cloture - ending debate on a bill and allowing for a vote.
So they still do not have enough for that.

I appreciate that. Not only had I missed it, but reading mode in the browser ate #3 so I didn’t have that part anyway. heh

Wasting time on Fox? Fuck off.

Bye Felicia!

This is going to mean that we have to work with folks with whom we have pretty significant disagreement.
WRONG. Blocked.
I kid, I kid.
On serious note, agreed. And we have to keep working outside of the main elections. The primaries are where we get to vote for progressives. No progressives? Getting them to run in the primaries is how we get them :)
It’s massive work, but yesterday was a good day.

Not if they impeach his ass.
You need to temper those expectations. There is not enough support in the Senate to remove, even if we end up with 55 (looking like 54 for now).
Celebrate this day - I am. It is a victory. But it is not truly a blue tsunami. It is a blue wave and will get feet wet. It is progress and goo dnews, and if this is not squandered, may lead to better things. Certainly minimizing fascist control is a Good Thing™. But this is, honestly, a very limited victory.

Congress is fully capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
<silly>Are they, though?</silly>
(well, mostly silly)

The smartest thing the fascists could possibly do would be to step back and let the establishment Dems squander this. The only good news is that I don’t think they’re smart enough to do that. Trump sure isn’t, he’ll continue to be stupid, which is helpful for us, frankly.
I’m really hoping the Dems do see the progressive side standing up and let us have some wins so they can stick around longer.
The worst possible scenario is for sane Republicans to have a shot at the Presidency in two years, because with the media’s huge propaganda machine, there is a baseline of support for the fascists. They are THIS fucking crazy, and while we got a blue wave, if you really look at it, it’s not THAT blue. We don’t have a supermajority to impeach and remove. We don’t have SCOTUS. So many states won by such a small amount. I’m not minimizing our victory - this was a GREAT day. But it’s still a huge uphill battle and we have one a single battle with the war still ongoing and still stacked against us.
I’m thankful for today. But now it’s critical to press onward.

All of this, AND the problem remains of the establishment Democrats who are not fascists, but maybe where Republicans were like 20ish years ago. So it’s very much an uphill battle for real progress.
But this is a night to celebrate.

I see 39% reporting, so it’s probably just a glitch on the percent reporting or something

Well, damn. That’s pretty awesome. And depressing. And sweet.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahahaaa… oh… man… I needed that.
