Washington State allows “postmarked by election day” ballots too, and the up-to-the-wire votes always trend left, so this actually benefits Democrats quite a bit. Plus it removes the ambiguity of “is it still safe to mail my vote?” Especially since the USPS got hamstrung by the Trump administration the first time around, and is a less reliable service now.
