Most people will fold and get the account
Well, except for the (apparently) vast swathes of long-time users who get permabanned for bullshit reasons (or no given reason at all) and then can’t make a new account because of “ban evasion.” I guess they just aren’t allowed to experience Reddit at all, even lurking.

I know it isn’t the same cross-sectional area. I was just suggesting the same as how my local government does tree recompense.

They should be forced to replant the same number of trunk diameter-inches. (Or diameter-meters, I guess, being in Finland.) In other words, for every 1’ diameter tree they remove, they should have to plant 12 1" saplings (either back on the same site or elsewhere when they run out of space).

Even blatant greed isn’t enough to explain shit like randomly picking fights with Greenland and fawning over Kim Jong Un.

Calling Trump “senile” downplays the traitorous duplicity.
At this point, he’s done so much shit that “ineptitude” no longer cuts it as a plausible explanation. Occam’s razor says he’s trying to destroy the US on purpose.

I understand perfectly well how tech works. I also understand how property rights work – or at least, how they’re supposed to work.
The real question is, why does a person asserting their right not to be abused by corporations apparently offend your sensibilities so much that you have to tell bullshit lies in some desperate, pathetic attempt to smear me?

Every court that disagrees is tyrannical and needs to be fucking abolished.

No, because the law cares about intent, not technical details. Having my property do DNS over HTTPS because that’s what I, the owner, wanted is fine; having my property do DNS over HTTPS because that’s what some non-owner entity wanted against my will as the owner is not.

RFCs are subordinate to laws. If I, the device and network owner, want my device to use the DNS I set and the device does differently, I want the rogue corp prosecuted and IDGAF what some goddamn RFC says!

That ought to be illegal.
(No, seriously: disobeying DNS the owner set by DHCP ought to count as “exceeding authorized access” under the CFAA.)

INB4 !bigtechatemyface@lemmy.world
[Or rather, not INB4 because I just made it.]

To be fair, IoT devices should be making exactly zero DNS requests, unless maybe you set up a proper domain name for your Home Assistant server.

Yes, I do in fact have both a minivan and a pickup right now. Aside from not having four wheel drive or a tow hitch, the minivan is more capable, both in terms of weight and volume (the van can haul full sheets of plywood; the pickup truck can’t). And by the way, if I installed a hitch on it the minivan would be able to tow more than the truck, too.
The truck is better for hauling dirty stuff off-road, but that’s about it.
Granted, my truck isn’t exactly a 1-ton long-bed… but then again, neither is most people’s.

On one hand, we’re gonna need a fuckton of Chinese remanufacturing workshops putting these server chips onto regular PC boards, but on the other hand they’re all export-restricted so the Chinese are probably going to be keeping any that they manage to get their hands on. So either we’re going to have to start a similar remanufacturing cottage industry in the West or we’re fucked.

Ironically, most of that sort of thing is done better with a minivan.

No, they want to absolutely destroy this guy in every possible way they can. He opposed Cop City, and that makes it personal for the fascist pigs.
(Source: I’m a local who was intimidated into keeping my distance from Stop Cop City specifically because of tyranny like this.)

SCOTUS also said that black people born in America weren’t citizens and that rounding people up into concentration camps based solely on their race was A-OK. SCOTUS has a long history of tyrannical bullshit rulings, so what’s your point?
Blatantly unconstitutional “rulings” don’t make DHS’s behavior legitimate; they only destroy the legitimacy of SCOTUS itself.

“He opposed us building our fascist thuggery theme park”
There could be millions of people trying to post it on corporate social media, but you’d never see it.
