1·3 hours agoI think every service in the eastern half of my state uses the one I listed, and it’s probably about a 90/10 split on plain english / 10 codes. Most of the 10 code usage is in the extremely rural areas. And god, don’t get me started on 10 codes not being standardized. At least most of the major things seemed to be close. I haven’t traveled to the western side for work, so can’t speak to there. It is definitely interesting how things shake out in regards to agencies following recommendations.
“Have to be” is a pretty strong verbiage… but like the others have said, it’s about both parties already knowing the alphanumeric replacement of choice. That’s why any military boy will roll their eyes and probably have some silly comment if you start using random words like apple, boy, or dennis.

11·15 hours agoIf we considered '24 as a single point, then regression to the mean (thinking, as is pretty accurate across most states, that the split between d/r is often a few points off of 50/50) would suggest a large swing back towards ‘neutral’ from a +14 point advantage.
So, even discounting the idiocy that is the current american administration and its effects on voters, yes, I would expect most places to vote more democrat.

It will almost certainly block breathing, yes, but more importantly it’s about the opening to the trachea being incredibly small in comparison to the average penis. You can go look at some videos of endotracheal tube insertions and see how tight of a fit those are.
Small edit: looking closely at the picture (which isn’t beautifully accurate in the first place, but whatever), the penis isn’t even entering the trachea, but the area immediately superior to the glottis. The fuuuuuck? Even in america, the stars would have to align for that to happen. The cop would have to dislike you, the prosecutor would have to dislike you (or be gunning for a higher political position and you’re an easy mark for being tough on child criminals), the jury would have to hate you (or be really dumb and not believe you took the material to the cops in the first place), AND you would have to be dumb enough to not realize how hated you are in your local area and still give them the rope to hang you with.
