151·3 hours agoWe don’t have to, the government can literally take their money if we collectively decide to. Personally, I think “no billionaires” is a pretty good policy. Once someone’s net worth hits $999M, the government takes all their income above that amount, taxes any gifts they receive at 100% of their value, takes all their capital gains, etc.
And I’m extremely happy about the outcome

Oh hey, welcome to the conversation, and that’s not what I said at all. Other bro accused me of “wasting my time voting” when instead they think I should be digging up asphalt. I just wanted to communicate that I had plenty time to both vote and dig up asphalt

12·22 hours agoWhatever campaign Ted Cruz tries to run, it’s going to look totally different from the campaigns we just watched. All the fear mongering around socialism and trans issues fell totally flat in Texas

142·23 hours agoEven though I hate Greg Abbott and everything he stands for, the dude very obviously hates Donald Trump and MAGA, and genuinely relishes the rule of law (even though he manipulates it to benefit his donors). I think Abbott conceded so early to send a message to other Replicans who may be considering “election fraud” shenanigans. I think he hates that shit.
Voting took me about 15 minutes
Ok, so I’m trying really hard to understand where you glean anyone here saying that voting is the only thing you should do. I’m a social worker whose full time job is helping people experiencing homelessness in any way I can. Who the fuck are you and what do you do

15·1 day agoTexas Democrats are totally different people with different values and policies from California Democrats. Was that simple enough for you to comprehend?
Genuinely interested in what you think should happen and how you would get there besides abstaining from voting.
No, I say that like I’m not surprised that someone who thinks the United States should be overthrown doesn’t care about participating in its elections. Would love to hear the endgame you have in mind
At the Irish-Italian parade in New Orleans, they throw potatoes, carrots, and cabbages off floats the way they throw beads and doubloons for Mardi Gras. I think I prefer the vegetables
Sore bought, like you really didn’t want to buy potatoes, but you had to, and you were sore about it

Few sentences more effectively demonstrate the disconnect between billionaire capitalists and the rest of us.
