Oh no, you fell down the stairs and accidentally shot yourself in the back of the head while on fire. Careless.

1·2 days agoCombining a car’s movement behaviour via ANPR/ALPR with known drug routes has been going on for over a decade. This is AI in the data science and pattern recognition sense and not the media hyped LLM sense

3·12 days agoBased on recent security bullitains, Chinese open weight companies have been aggressively distilling closed frontier models for a while, so you’re pretty much getting the latest frontier model for a fraction of the price.

I’m still a massive fan of copilot auto-complete because you’re still laying out the structure of the code and can hint at what you want with strong naming and good doc strings which are good practice anyway, and then the copilot finishes your thoughts and you save time. Especially good at rigging up tests.

Technology@lemmy.world•Investors dump data centre bonds as AI borrowers face ‘Darwin moment’English
2·15 days agoQwen is fine imo. Even a small model can be pretty helpful. I run a 27b on an old A6000 at work and have a 7b running locally on a home setup and both do fine with almost anything I throw at them. With the 7b, it can recognise that it’s struggling with a particular task and offload to a heavier cloud model (azure foundry) This gives you good ROI for 99.9% of your inference and the ability to still complete big and complex tasks.
