1·4 days agoApparently many leases do, but mine doesn’t. I’m sure it’s a liability thing especially with flooding or water damage.

7·4 days agoI got so tired of the quarters problem (bank online so I get ATM fees then have to go to a laundromat to pretend I’m doing laundry there) that I bought a whole-ass washing machine for $180 to avoid the problem.
I’m actually saving a ton of money and because my landlord is checked out and lives far from here he’ll never know we have a portable washer in our apartment.

3·20 days agoThe same items at my local Ralphs (Kroger) are constantly (like 4+ years) out of stock because they just face over the holes. Whoever is putting inventory into the computer must absolutely suck too because this shouldn’t even be happening; but having worked at Walmart I’ve seen firsthand how people roll their eyes when the numbers are off.

4·24 days agoOh for fuck’s sake. If you manufacture something cheaply it’s cheap for the manufacturer. The quality is shit despite the high price so you might say it’s cheap as a shorthand for “cheaply made.”
I literally see and hear this usage everywhere. I’m not sure why it’s suddenly a mystery.

6·24 days agoI’m a native US English speaker and use both definitions. I’m on a Swiss instance because I don’t like hosting my data in 14 Eyes countries.
If I think your product is shit, I’ll oftentimes call it cheap — especially if it looks like you manufactured it cheaply and then sold it for a high price for a huge profit.

3·24 days agoI take cheap to mean poor quality and/or cheap for them to buy or produce (versus the customer).

1·24 days agoFor me it’s starting to feel very draining. I’ve worked on small teams the past several years but now my current internal-only project is picking up steam and we’ve got a product owner and manager on board.
The amount of planning, discussing, iterating, changing requirements, etc. is absolutely demanding. I’m starting to miss just programming. The overhead is what starts to make all this feel soul-sucking after a while.

I low key really hate restrooms and indoor plumbing in general in Mexico
