FWIW a lot of folks reject basic decency and are like moths to a flame for people who treat them like utter crap.

I was always shocked in my dating days how being mean and nasty to someone often resulted in them chasing me, and being polite and kind to them resulted in them rejecting me, often with hostility.

A lot of folks have very warped mentalities and will only find someone desirable if they are treated poorly or rejected by that person. Like, most of the messages I get on dating apps were always from women who felt ‘excluded’ by my standards and wanted to like argue with me about it, to prove themselves the ‘exception’ to my standards. It was so weird. And anytime I gave them a ‘chance’ they always proved the rule, they were never an exception. Folks be crazy like that.
