Bless the Cheeto and his dust
Bless the coming and bloating of him
May his passage shit the world
May he grift the world for his people
Kristin Kobes Du Mez studies the white Christian women who preach a religion of universal love but practice a politics of division, exclusion, and hate.
There’s your error right there, Christianity is not a religion of love and tolerance.

Far right nationalist Christianity is not a religion of love and tolerance.
As much as i tend to sway away from religion personally, I know (and know of) many Christians who do practice what they preach. They are kind, tolerant and generous.
America inherited our religious extremists when we kicked them out of the UK in the 1600s.
I too have known some folks who claim to be Christians to be honorable, upstanding folks, but my guess is they would have been so had they never been exposed to the religion. The case against Christianity is not just against American forms of it. Here’s some reading for you, and be advised this is a fairly large site:

I would tend to agree with you, but I do think the OP has a point. Even by Christian standards (which is a low bar) American evangelicalism is a whole different level of evil, and isn’t even Christian except in the broadest sense of the word. It’s just hateful extremism with a coat of Christian iconography.
You put it better than me. The people masquerading as Christians are nothing of the sort. They use religion as a shield to justify their cuntiness.
You can see it in the UK - Russel Brand gets accused of being a rapist - overnight he “finds god”. Tommy ten names Robinson is in court for being a violent bigot, immediately he’s a Christian.
The far right march in the south against immigrants (in direct contravention of the teachings of the Bible) and apparently it’s all in the name of God, even though the closest any of them get to a church is when it’s been turned into a pub.
