House literally fakes his own death to run away into the sunset on his motorcycle with Wilson after Wilson is diagnosed with cancer. Literal ride or die couple. Admittedly partly to escape legal consequences, but he could have done that any way he wanted.

The show was based on the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson dynamic, so faking his death aligned with the Reinbach Falls ending for Sherlock Holmes. It only made sense that Holmes and Wilson road off into the sunset in their amazingly homoerotic subtext.
Wilson and House were the steadiest couple on this show
Also House definitely flirted with everyone in his own way, cause he loved finding their kinks and exploiting them:
