Personally, I am expecting Chuck and Jeffries to give a reacharound to the other aisle, instead of actually serving Americans.

It is an insecurity deal.

Resignation is unacceptable. Hegseth should be tried and executed for warcrimes and treason.

We don’t need just more justices. We need age and term limits. Being allowed to feather their nests with bribes forever has clearly corrupted many of the justices on the bench.

Personally, I think age limits are a good thing with politicians. It is the easiest way to reliably filter out people who are losing their ability to represent their constituents - due to mental stratification, cultural calcification, becoming a known element for horse trading, or decreasing vitality for getting things done.
Sure, we would lose the occasional good person such as Bernie - but in exchange, we least ensure that politicians are aware of the world, and are able to interact with it at a decent speed.

I am glad these kids have AI to talk with. Older generations sometimes had no one to hear them at all.
I didn’t have friends nor neighbors as a child, and needed therapy to learn how to speak properly. Having an AI to speak with, would have saved a fair bit of money - and would have been comforting.

I wish. There would be no surer way of destroying the current Israel, than having this sack of orange shit in the pilot’s seat.

I think that governors and presidents alike shouldn’t have direct veto power. Their job is to enact the will of congress and the people.
If veto is retained in a future America, I suggest the following:
1: The leader nominates an congressionally approved law for being vetoed.
2: A 30 day window opens, where voters can send in a ballot to approve the veto. 51% of the ballots have to agree with the veto to cancel the incoming law.
3: Voters can mark on their ballot whether to automatically prevent the leader from being able to nominate laws for veto. If 51% of the cast ballots agree to lame the leader, that leader loses veto power for the rest of their term.
4: If a lamed leader is voted into office for another term, a ballot is sent out to voters. They will decide whether to restore veto powers to that leader. 51% of cast ballots have to agree to do the restoration.
A leader has to risk losing their veto privilege when exercising it, especially if it becomes a cudgel of choice for them.

This makes no bloody sense. Either the pipe is in use, or it isn’t. The “water” itself is infinite, so long as the device on the other end has electricity. I assume people in France already pay their electric bill.

I think part of the problem with pardon power is that it can be freely done.
I think a president should nominate someone for pardoning, then congress critters have to give a 51% vote in favor of pardoning for it to ultimately take effect. 30 days have to pass during the nomination period for them to review the pardon, the pardon to be public knowledge, and congress critters having their name attached to their vote. Particular crimes should be noted for the pardoning, and a pardon doesn’t void new infractions of the same kind of crime.
A second 30 day direct voting period then takes place to confirm the pardon. The general public sends in a vote, based on all voters who send in a ballot. By default in this stage, the pardon passes unless 51% of the ballots reject the pardon.
To sum up:
1a: A president nominates a person for pardon for specific crimes at the time of the pardon.
1b: The nominated for pardoning must be considered a flight risk, and prevented from free international travel during the review stages.
2: After 30 days of review, 51% of congress must decide whether to approve of the pardon, attaching their name to the vote.
3a: Following approval by the congressional voting period, direct voters from the public can send in ballots to cancel the pardon. 51% of voters who submit a ballot must agree to cancel the pardon. This window lasts 30 days.
3b: Direct voters can choose to automatically prevent the leader from nominating pardons. 51% of the voters have to agree to remove the pardoning power. This state lasts for the current term of the leader. If this leader is elected again, a ballot is sent out to ask whether their pardoning privilege is restored for their new term.
IMO, the important part of a pardon is for national security purposes - but right now, it is too easy to pardon bad actors in the name of factional forgiveness or bribes.

The problem isn’t the AI, the issue is that the elites are trying to horde it and keep it from us little people. If we are to have agency, having personal ownership over local AI, collectively owned AI, and regulations, are all key to ensuring that democracy and egalitarianism is secure.
The elite will not willingly surrender power, especially there is a void that they can colonize. Ordinary people like us should fill the vacuum, to deny the elite from having total control over AI.

Normally, I am fine with people having kinks. However, choking is straight up bad, on account of actually damaging a key part of the body. Backdoor action involving toys is good fun when they are appropriate for the job - but there is no such thing for the neck.
Please, just don’t. Spank your partner with a crop, give em’ titty twists, do waxplay, pretend at rape if they have a safeword - but just don’t risk their wellbeing. Their lives are literally in your hands if you go for the throat. 🫤

It would require further development of AI before it can automate physical factories. There are assorted species of critters that cannot be mass-slaughtered, because they require surgical cuts to remove bones or work around tough parts. An sufficiently advanced AI can X-ray and measure the carcass, then carve up the beast with minimal waste.
Of course, this would be very expensive, requiring entirely new infrastructure and procedures to implement. I suspect that the transition to industrial-application of AI would be slow - then sudden, after testbed factories prove the viability of AI automated workflows.

Thank you. :)
Hopefully my projects make the lives of other people a bit better, alongside my own.

I am thinking about starting up a $5 tip jar at Patreon, with my files free for anyone to download. If I can get enough money saved, I would be able to decrease the amount of time it takes for a project. So far, my projects take 3-7 days to succeed or fail, bottlenecked by the AI speed.
Unfortunately, my projects are pretty niche. Bastion, TEVI, System Shock 2, Ast Libra, Shrift, Sailing Era, The Humankind Odyssey, Alpha Protocol, The Jupiter Incident, and many others are probably too obscure to interest people.

Currently, using the Strata backend with Qwen-Flash-Next. It has successfully made 4 save game editors, 2 plugins, and did some work on La-Mulana 2006 to make the controls and graphics play nice with Windows 11, plus my gamepad. The DLC restoration mod is largely successful, I am doing QA for making the DLC accurate to what was offered in the ad copy.

Hermes Agent is my model of choice, and I have Strata using 256k context, on a IQ3. I find that Next-Flash is much faster than the smaller 27b, and has more personality. Sometimes it can get a bit loopy. I typically have the AI keep a bible of findings, and start a fresh Hermes session - then tell it to condense the information from the old workspace and session into a more relevant version. Save on context, and makes it more effective since it discards findings that have been superseded.
Hardware wise, a TRX50 AI TOP motherboard, 7965WX CPU, RTX 4090 and x2 RTX 3060, with 128gb of 5600 RDIMM. Down the line, I might try some GPU unlockers when other folk have tested them for bugs. So about a month or two?

I bought my memory and the CPU from Ebay, for prices a bit lower than at Newegg. If I could redo my GPU purchases, I would have gone with a RTX Pro 4500 Blackwell. That has 32gb of VRAM, and occupies a single double-width PCIe slot, and sips energy. The RTX 4090 is only 24gb, and takes up 1 and 1/2 of my slots.

Qwen-Flash-Next is an experimental model, the official version might come out in a month or so. If it is the same size or smaller, I will switch to that as my main driver. My current AI model feels useful to me, but clearly has raw aspects to it. Vision is a big one, since this AI can fail to see or understand details.

I want the personalization…without Big Brother. My personal and local AI, should work solely for my interests. I have been using my local AI for creating an customized cookbook, making save editors, and right now, an restoration mod.
Never before have I had so much agency in my life. AI has great potential for self actualization, but corporations and government will be working to undermine it. Hopefully, everyday people will recognize that and make local AI the norm.

Why not resell? That puts extra money in the tank for the company’s ledger. Just throwing away cards cost money, and obsolete cards take up server space or cost more energy for what they do.
If the problem is form factor, there will undoubtedly be clearinghouses that specialize in converting data center cards to consumer specs.

I can just follow the recipe on the back of the cornmeal box. However, that recipe cannot be tailored to my tools, preferences, and circumstances. A cookbook typically cannot conform itself to the user, let alone speak with said user and collaborate.
You take pride and joy in hurting people. That is gross. 🫤
Normally, I would support this. But under the Trump Regime? At they very least they will fuck things up unintentionally, and odds are, they would try to bundle malware with the upgrades. Just because.
