I feel like the ball is only just now rolling for ARM… and RISC-V is WAAAY behind that.

I find the popularity if Arch frustrating. Not that I have anything against it but because I worry people will go to arch and get scared away from Linux as a whole. I’m on Ubuntu and fedora and both those distros just work with no screwing around. Its so chill.
Its only chicks with dicks that scare the right. I don’t think they know about F2M trans men.

I’m slowly turning into one of those Graph-holes with each comment like this that I make but… GrapheneOS. No AI, no sketchy shit, only has what you put on it.
I don’t like android so I miss iOS but I just can’t go back anymore.

Its clear to me that you’re not really worth engaging with. But I’ll basically restate my point. There are a ton of really great games out there; you’re playing the wrong ones.
It Takes Two and Split Fiction. Two excellent split screen games that came out from one studio within the last 5 years.
Factorio. One of the best single player games I’ve ever played. There is multiplayer co-op but that’s not really the point of the game.
Peak, RV There Yet, and other games in the “friend slop” category. They’re not the best games ever but they’re pretty enjoyable and I play some of these at home with my kids, steamdeck vs PC. They’re just fun games.
Tape to Tape. I havent played it yet because it’s not quite my type of game, but it’s a roguelike hockey game that does local multiplayer (its not split screen if you don’t split the screen right?) or single player.
Bopl battle. This is kind of an obscure oddity but my son was playing it for a while. Its sort of an arena battle game like smash bros but different (of course). Supports not local multiplayer (like smash bros) or online play.
Battle Bit. It’s kind of semi-abandoned now which makes me sad, but it was a battlefield style shooter which was simply amazing for a brief period in time.
Age of Empires II DE. I hesitate to put this in here, but Microsoft reworked the original game a while back so it runs properly on modern computers and gave it just a little bit of a graphics improvement without killing the spirit of the original.
Minecraft. It’s still good even if it’s mostly seen as a kids game. Supports split screen still but that has always been on consoles only.
These are just the good games I’ve been playing over the last few years that come to mind. There is a lot of trash out there but there are also a lot of gems

Theres a whole world of gaming outside of the competitive gaming scene that’s doing great.

but it’s hardly what you’d call a viable proposition - not at the $198 paid for the modded GPU
Ya. A used 3050 is cheaper than that, still has 8 outputs and 8gb of VRAM. Its cool to see this done as a hobby project but it sounds like this guy just bought it as is, so what’s the point?

That’s the concern with it looking like a potentially great malware vector as things move forward if people are trusting more and more things to AI generated code and not doing thorough review processes.
Kind of a sci-fi thought… what happens if AI uses AI slop code as a vector to insert subtle bits of code in multiple projects that seem innocuous on their own but are actually creating a distributed AI hive mind.
I’m not saying I think that’s what’s happening right now or that it’s possible any time soon, but we’ve seen malware inserted in apps, bitcoin mining on iPhone apps, etc. Skynet Super Claude being created without us noticing isn’t maybe the craziest thing? Someone else said this project is 57k lines of code; aint nobody got time to check all that.
Oh ya, the C3 and I think the C5. Not sure what the current versions are but if they’re in esp32’s then I guess that’s pretty main stream, just nowhere near a computer processor just yet.
Are the RISC-V ESP32’s cheaper than that ARM ones?
