8·1 day agoThe trick for me is to sort of toss the pill up into the water in my mouth. Do it a few times and you’ll feel it go out of contact with your tongue.
Once that happens, swallow and it will be like you didn’t take anything at all.

0·4 days agoLight doesn’t really have a direction.
It only appears to have a direction over time, from the viewpoint of an external observer.
From the point of view of the photon, it exists as an atomic emission, immediately hits its target, and is reabsorbed.
So there is no back for it to come from.
Fuck that, I want the results of the US election

0·4 days agoAt the same time, though, every time the speed of light has been measured, it has always been the exact same, unless something was being done to it to cause it to slow down.
So we are highly confident that the speed of light in vacuum is a exactly equal to 299,792,458 meters a second.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some strange parts of wealthy lifestyles? [read post]English
3·5 days agoI know a couple of rich people. One of them hired a state senator as their attorney.
It’s totally on the up and up for the most part, but there is the implication that this puts influence in the senator to vote in favor of their second employer.
Like these rich people also run their own business and their business is funded by a billionaire, so they’re using billionaires’ money to fund their own lifestyle while also using that money to hire attorneys and senators to help their lifestyle continue.

0·17 days agoI want a MMORPG where there are 100,000 unique NPCs all run by AI with a custom backstory that keep track of the world events and respond accordingly.
I want them to have player/party specific memories and information. I want the merchants to remember the player and treat them according to how they were treated.
