I’ll defer to Webster on this one.

This is my favorite IT joke

What about those who were expecting a trinary joke?

This always reminds me of
"Oh, Johnny was a chemist’s son
But Johnny is no more
For what Johnny thought was H20
Was H2SO4!"

I write code, and I see the point they’re making. It has the same feel as “chemistry is just applied physics” and such.

Lawyer-turned-software-developer.
Are you the inverse of lawtechie from reddit?
30 dB is barely a whisper, not a bellow.
skeptical face…
I don’t see a river anywhere in that picture!

LOL, fair enough. None of those near where I live, though (and even if they were, I’m not looking for exciting ways to get myself arrested).

What do you think is the biggest impact a person can have on their eco footprint? I’ve heard the bit about cutting meat before, but I haven’t heard much in the way of “xyz change makes a bigger difference”.

People still read books even though audiobooks and TV shows exist
Indeed. Why would I replace my reading time with inferior substitutes?
Don’t get me wrong, audiobooks are great for listening while you drive, but personally? I still prefer reading printed words off the page.
(TV shows are fine, too, but they’re a different category of entertainment than reading books)

Wishing a thing to be true does not make it so.

This thread is making me think of durians.

I hated onions as a kid but enjoy them as an adult.
Yellow onions are kind of the “default” onion in my mind. Basically anything cooked in a skillet can start with some onions in butter or oil. Or as part of the base to start a soup. Most of the time, the onion itself kind of fades into the background, adding some sweet notes to a dish.
Red and white onions are more likely to be used raw (chili topping, pico, added to some salads…). But if I’m cooking, it’s usually a yellow onion.

Ah, I misinterpreted your username. Carry on, then!

Side note, I’m fascinated by your username. Are you a dragon with a sour disposition? Or more like a Sour Patch Dragon? Or a dragon who likes to eat sour patch kids? All three?

(Depending on how aggressive the new data center builds are, we might run out of water in my parents’ lifetimes, and I’m in my 40s)
Way to miss the point.
What makes you more of a language authority than the goddamn dictionary?
