It’s a question of phenomenology and subjectivity. This degradation of consciousness as “magic god juice” is just misanthropy. Yet, you yourself probably believe the life of a human is not equal to that of a non-human animal. Why? What’s the difference? Can you even answer that? Have you even thought about it?

There’s nothing slippery about what I’ve said either. AI boosters think their toys are conscious because they see consciousness as unimportant and trivial. To the extent they’ve thought about it, they’ve decided their toys have equivalent value to human life and are willing to kill everyone to build the god machine.

I don’t believe a human and a non-human ape have equivalent ethical value. There’s something different between them.

And there you go, that’s why AI boosters feel like they can say their toys are conscious. They don’t think consciousness is interesting or different from how any other animal experiences the world, just jumped up apes that pretend to be special. Naturally, this leads them to conclude chatbots are conscious.

It’s gibberish, of course. In reality, they don’t know what it is and don’t care to define it because it is unimportant to them. These can be very smart people who know a lot about AI, but they don’t know a lot about consciousness and their opinions shouldn’t be taken that seriously. Qualia? What’s that?

That’s not a case of not understanding AI, that’s just a case of having a misanthropic world view. His conception of consciousness is that there’s nothing particularly special about it and that humans are just jumped-up apes that pretend to be important. He also probably hasn’t actually spent much time philosophizing about consciousness.

And this logic is exactly the same as forcing us to use the men’s changing rooms, the men’s bathrooms, and sending us to men’s prison. The goal is to eradicate us.

Okay, so then first off, there’s no such thing as a “biological man”. There are males and females, man/woman are gender markers and not biological. By mixing biological and gender markers, they are essentially invalidating the concept of gender entirely.

Second, the logic being used to ban trans women from women’s sports is the same logic being used to put us in men’s prisons.

Third, being born different shouldn’t mean you aren’t allowed to play sports, what this effectively means is trans women and girls are just banned from all sports. It gets really stupid when they start banning us from playing on chess teams, which has happened.

And lastly, if we assume that there’s an unfair advantage, so what? Should we ban tall people from playing basketball because they have an unfair, inborn advantage? If someone has naturally higher lung capacity, should they be banned from football? Why use sex specifically as a way to segregate the population, instead of more scientific measures of actual biological ability?

In short, there’s a lot wrong with it.

It has one of the most violent police forces in the world, the most violent military in the world, and that is who they were making robot dogs for before ICE. That’s why this is so ridiculous, they’re acting like their hands were clean before.

Well this is about the US, so I’ll focus on them. Their police kill 1000 people every year and the US has the highest incarceration rate in the developed world, as well as the single largest imprisoned population. As for soldiers, their wars kill people by the millions.

Absolutely. I used the word “experience” and not “feel” intentionally here. People who raise and kill animals for a living try to think of animals like meat robots, they want to believe pain is just something animals sense rather than a subjective experience.

Sometimes, they successfully fool themselves so they don’t have to feel bad for the animals they hurt and kill. Other times they develop all sorts of disorders and addictions. Sometimes they kill themselves.
