Not that like, children and adults getting blown up by land mines isn’t sad enough on its own already, but now I’m thinking about the non-zero amount of wildlife that was just minding its own fucking business before getting blown up by a landmine that was put there by some asshole (to defend against another asshole) :(

I choose to believe this was a dud and the bear is fine!

That looks to be an anti-vehicle mine due to it’s size. It could very well be armed and active.

Anti-personal mine are a quite a bit smaller.

So the thing that could kill him before is now confirmed to certainly kill him. 🥺

I need hope. Can someone else chime in with a lie, like that’s a confetti capsule and he’s going to have a fun party.

It takes a fair bit of pressure to set off an anti tank mine. If that’s a grizzly though, even just a brown bear, it definitely has the capacity to do so. That being said, depending on why it picked it up will be the deciding factor here. If it grabbed it thinking it’s food… yeah the bear was sadly not long for this world.

            But there’s a chance! That’s something, right?

It’s actually a long lost prototype of the Energy Dome. Most prominently worn by the American New Wave band Devo. They formed in 1973 and are best know for their hit song, “Whip It”. The Energy Dome didn’t make an appearance until 1980, during their “Freedom of Choice” campaign.

Bears are bears. They do bear things. They don’t know borders, don’t support wars. They just want to bear.

I honestly can’t tell most of the time anymore, but if it is that doesn’t change that land mines have a long term negative impact on the wildlife as well as the people in the areas they’re placed (even if they’re not carrying it around like this), and that animals don’t know where war zones begin and end.
