I love mentioning the latest meme trend to my wife. She isn’t a big Internet user and her confused replies always makes me laugh

She was so confused about beans and sometimes when she doesn’t understand something she’ll just call it beans

For centuries people have described phenomena they don’t understand “God.” We’re making progress.

Ten years from now, people will point at a can of beans, say God, and start laughing. Archeologist will be so confused.

Depending on where you get your coffee, those beans might have been shat out before you even thought about them.

Yeah it’s not like there are just dozens of disjointed powdered milk memes popping up on the fediverse at a given time, and they just happen to be concentrating in your feed because some blackbox marketing algorithm stole your personal data and decided you would be interested in powdered milk. The fediverse isn’t big enough for that to happen, plus it’s not a profit-driven proprietary platform, so it wouldn’t happen anyway.

No, it’s just an organic conversation unfolding between a bunch of fediverse users who find a sense of human companionship in being a part of the trend. Surprisingly wholesome.
